Housing Regulations
Welcome to the Maison de la Brèche! To ensure a pleasant and respectful stay for all, please take note of the following rules:
1. Respect for quiet: Please respect the neighborhood by avoiding excessive noise, especially between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
2. No parties or events: Parties and events are not permitted in the accommodation. I ask you to preserve the residential character of the house and contribute to a peaceful atmosphere.
3. Animals: I have a deep love for animals, but for reasons of hygiene, preservation of the condition of the textiles and comfort for all my guests, I cannot accept pets in the house. In case of absolute necessity (guide dog or detection dog), please inform me and take the necessary measures to avoid any deterioration (blankets on the sofa, prohibition to go on the carpet, on the bed, etc.).
4. Accommodation capacity: The living room and kitchen are proportioned for 4 people, the time of a meal or a coffee. Please do not exceed the house's capacity for full-time accommodation (2 people).
5. Shoes on upper floors: To maintain hygiene and cleanliness, please remove your shoes before going to the upper floors.
6. Respect for the Property: I invite you to treat this house as if it were your own. All equipment, furniture and objects deserve to be used with care. Any damage or loss of items will result in a charge.
7. No smoking: It is strictly forbidden to smoke inside the house, even with the windows open. You may smoke outside. Vaping is tolerated on condition that the smoke is blown directly outside with the windows open. In case of persistent odor, a fee will be charged.
8. Leaving: When you are away or when you leave the house, please check that all lights are off, windows are closed, air conditioning is switched off and the main door is locked.
Compliance with these rules will promote a pleasant and harmonious atmosphere for all my guests. Failure to do so may result in charges.
How the front door works
Your access code: Shortly after booking, I will send you a 6-digit code that will be valid only for the duration of your stay (check-in 4pm, check-out 11am). Simply enter your code to unlock the front door. If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to contact me on Airbnb or by pressing the button on the intercom that triggers a phone call.
How to lock or unlock the door: From the inside, you can turn the white knob as you would with a key, or press the central button to lock or unlock the door automatically.From the outside, you can quickly lock the door by pressing the ◄ button on the keypad.
WARNING: When you close the door, the handle must always be pulled up to allow the smart lock to lock it again. If you leave without raising the handle, the front door will not be locked, even if you enter your code or press the ◄ button on the keypad.
How the air conditioning works
- Error code E7: In the event of an "E7" error, ensure that all air conditioners in operation are in the same mode. The 3 air conditioners (laundry room, living room and bedroom) are all connected to the same heat pump. It cannot cool one room and heat another at the same time.
- Sleeping with the air-conditioning on: If you'd like to sleep with the air-conditioning on in the bedroom, here are two options to make it as unobtrusive as possible: Press the "LIGHT" button to switch off the temperature display. Also, make sure the air conditioner is in "SLEEP" mode to reduce noise.
- Hot or cold mode?: The snowflake or sun icon can be confusing. The rule is simple: Think of it as the air conditioner's operating mode, not the current weather. Thus, the sun symbol represents heating mode and the snowflake represents cooling mode.
- Why doesn't the air-conditioning blow any air? If you've just turned on the air-conditioning or changed the temperature setting, you'll need to wait for the air-conditioning to adapt, until the heat pump on the roof can build up its inertia.
Where to park?
You have several options:
- Pay underground parking at Place de la Brèche.
- Paid parking at Saint-Hilaire church (very expensive).
- Free parking at Place des Capucins, a 15-minute walk away or via a free electric shuttle bus.

To get to the house from the Place des Capucins parking lot, take the shuttle bus from "Place du Port" to "Brèche Quai C" (the blue loop).
To help you make the most of your stay, here's a room-by-room guide:
Laundry room
In this room, you'll find everything you need to keep your clothes fresh and clean:
- Washing machine for your laundry needs (detergent and fabric softener not supplied).
- Hand-held iron and steamer.
- Can of distilled water on site for iron and steamer.
- Vacuum cleaner, dustpan and mop for cleaning.
- Air conditioning / dehumidifier for cold, wet winters.
- Wall-mounted clotheshorse: Located close to the vacuum cleaner. Unlock the cable by turning the knob, stretch the cable to the wall bracket opposite the room, then lock the cable again by turning the knob in the other direction.
- Wall-mounted towel rail for drying laundry
WC on ground floor
The toilets on the first floor have ecological functions:
- Japanese-style bidet with water jet.
- Hand-washing basin integrated into WC to save water.
- Full soap dispenser, towel & toilet brush.
- Three rolls of toilet paper are available in the basket, in addition to the roll in use, to avoid waste.
Garage for motorcycles or bicycles
This space is practical for storing your bikes or motorcycles, and for sorting your garbage: three garbage cans are at your disposal (household waste, recyclables and glass). If you are staying for a long time (a week or more), please take out the garbage cans according to the calendar in the room.
Good to know: The garage door can only be opened from the inside.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped to meet all your needs:
- Induction plates (if locked by mistake, hold down the lock button to unlock).
- Extractor hood for an odor-free kitchen.
- Electric kettle and pressurized coffee maker for hot drinks (with 2 free mint teas).
- Phillips Senseo coffeemaker (2 free pods).
- Blender for making smoothies.
- Microwave and oven for your meals.
- Complete cooking equipment: pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, wine glasses and more.
An inventory is taken regularly. However, if you break any dishes, I would be grateful if you could inform me immediately so that I can replace it for the next guests. Incidents of this kind can happen to anyone, and I don't plan to charge you for them (except in cases of abuse, of course).
Living room
Enjoy quality entertainment:
- 4K TV with access to YouTube, Amazon Prime subscription included, Arte, France TV and ability to connect your devices via HDMI cable provided. It does not feature TV channels.
- Home cinema sound system for an immersive sound experience.
- Four mood lamps.
- Tissues and scent diffuser available.
- Air conditioning for optimum comfort.
Good to know: The four ambient lamps are all controlled by a small remote control. So don't try to switch them on or off manually.
Office space
For your work or focus needs:
- Office lighting for an atmosphere conducive to concentration.
- Phone or tablet holder for your practical use.
- Two drawers, power strip and shelf at your disposal
Water Room
A functional space for your personal hygiene:
- Shower equipped with shampoo and shower gel dispensers for your convenience.
- Suspended WC with footrest for added comfort.
- Three rolls of toilet paper in the basket, plus the roll in use.
- Cup, soap dispenser and (empty) make-up box to suit your needs.
Bedroom
The ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries:
- High-quality queen-size double bed for a comfortable night's sleep.
- Various pillows: bolster, classic and memory foam.
- Closet with eight hangers for storing your clothes.
- Scandinavian bench with integrated box for storing unused pillows.
- Air conditioning for quality sleep.
